I have been practising as a lawyer since 2017, specialising in asylum, migration, and criminal law. In my work, I place a particular focus on international law – from human rights protection to international criminal law. It is important to me to work in a trauma-sensitive manner and to take social power dynamics into account in my casework.

My work is driven by the desire to address systemic inequalities and the resulting legal violations – both in specific individual cases and beyond the courtroom. I understand the law as a political-social construct that codifies social realities, but also as an instrument to change these realities in an emancipatory way.

A second degree in the Anthropology of Transnationalism and the State, as well as Gender Studies, which I began in 2020, complements and sharpens my legal work. It allows me to critically reflect on power structures and the role of law within them, while simultaneously engaging with forms of resistance and solidarity. It is important to me to learn from one another through exchange and collaboration with colleagues, organisations, and those affected, and to open up new spaces for action together.
